Why should I come to Runshaw to study Psychology?
As a Psychology student at Runshaw you
will benefit from highly qualified Grade 1
rated staff who are committed to helping you succeed using a range of creative and diverse teaching methods. As many of our teachers are specialist A Level examiners our results are always excellent, achieving 64% A*-B grades in 2018.
What will I study?
The course will introduce you to the theories and methods in psychology and offer you the opportunity to look at some of the explanations psychologists use to understand human behaviour and experiences.
Year 1: You will study the ways in which psychologists approach the investigation of human behaviour, such as social approach, cognitive approach, biological approach and learning theories. This will be assessed by a formal internal assessment at the end of
the year.
Year 2: You will focus on the application of psychology to different areas of everyday life, such as clinical and criminological psychology. This will be assessed by three external examinations which cover the material from both Year 1 and Year 2 at the end of
the year.
How is the course assessed?
100% written examination.
