Why should I come to Runshaw to study Religious Studies?
Religious Studies appeals to students who like
to debate key philosophical issues and get to
the heart of why people hold religious beliefs. They are interested in the world in which they live, in current affairs and how religion has
been, to some extent, marginalised by modern developments, such as the developments of science. You do not have to have any religious commitment to study this course and can be from any religious background, the key quality for this course is to have a lively and enquiring mind!
At Runshaw we have an outstanding record of success in Religious Studies, with a 100% pass rate for the past seven years and 68% A*-B grades last year.
You can also join the Religious Studies Academy to extend your studies, taking part in trips, debates and guest lectures to allow you to fully appreciate how the world can be interpreted and understood.
Many of our students progress to read a
wide number of degrees at university as Religious Studies has transferable skills that will make you a very strong candidate when the time comes to leave us.
How is the course assessed?
100% written examination.
