Leadership Positions: Assistant teacher Pre-K ballet class; Mentor and assistant at performances for younger dance students; My family and I have held a fundraising pageant and two fundraising shows to raise money for The Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types (FIRST). We were able to raise approximately $1,500.00; I strive to be a positive role model for others with rare skin conditions or anything that makes them feel different from the norm. I enjoy volunteering to read to children at local schools and libraries; My favorite book to read to them is “See My True Colors,” which is a book about children with all different types of rare conditions and features a sweet little girl I know who has ichthyosis like me; I love all animals and enjoy volunteering at the local animal shelter; I have also held a pet food and supplies collection to donate to the local animal shelter.
Employment Experience: Student
Special Skills & Activities: I have two personal pets, a shih-tzu named Princess and a bunny named Sarahfina. I served as a judge at the Miss Spring Fling 2022 Fundraiser Pageant. I enjoy dancing in ballet and love dancing en pointe! I look forward to the opportunities I have to perform and compete in ballet. Not only is it something I enjoy, but also a way in which I hope to inspire my peers. Between being a very late walker due to severe developmental delay, and having had two back surgeries to help with my scoliosis, dancing, performing, and competing is certainly no small feat. It’s something I’ve had to work hard to accomplish.
