COMPLIANCE WITH EUROPEAN UNION REGULATIONS FOR FOOD CONTACT
PLASTICS
European Regulation EC No. 1935/2004 for all materials and articles intended to come into contact with
foodstuffs and Commission Directive 2002/72/EC and its amendments up to and including 975/2009
relating to plastics materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
This statement applies to the following ArteniusPET grades:
ARTENIUS PET
AQUA,FLOW,FASTFLOW,GLOBAL.HOT,DESIGN,DESIGN+,SHAPE,CARE,BRIGHT
Only those monomers listed in Annex II of Commission Directive 2002/72/EC are used in the
manufacture of the above mentioned Artenius PET grades.
The monomer, terephthalic acid (PM/Ref. 24910) is subject to a specific migration limit (SML) of 7.5
mg/kg. The co-monomer, isophthalic acid (PM/Ref.19150) is subject to a specific migration limit (SML)
of 5 mg/kg.
The monomers, ethylene glycol (PM/Ref. 16990) and diethylene glycol (PM/Ref. 15760), are subject to
group specific migration limit. The group migration limit, SML(T), is 30 mg/kg. This means that the
restriction shall not be exceeded by the sum of the migration of the following substances mentioned as
PM/Ref. 15760, 16990, 47680, 53650 and 89440, these being ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol used
as monomers, ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol used as additives and the additive stearic acid esters
of ethylene glycol.
Antimony Trioxide (PM/Ref.’35760) is subject to a specific migration limit (SML) of 0.04 mg/kg
(expressed as antimony).
Catalyst : complies with BfR recommendations. Colorants:comply with BfR recommendation CoE
AP(89) I, French positive list and other national legislation if applicable.
