Th e 2D and 3D Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Renovation project involved
existing ICU’s on the 2nd floor and 3rd floors at Tampa General
Hospital. Each fl oor underwent 18,000-SF of intensive renovations
while the adjacent patient-care areas remained occupied and operational.
In addition, existing air handler units, which served adjacent occupied
areas, also had to remain operational throughout construction. Th is
required detailed coordination with the facility staff to protect patients
and required an in depth Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA)
plan.
