objective, we ensure that every requirement is clearly defi ned so that it can be measured QA/QC is unmatched
and communicated to those responsible for its execution. It is our responsibility to make
subjective, unquantifi able requirements tangible. Requirements that cannot be met in the Industry.
due to constructability, coordination or availability issues are brought to the attention
of the owner and architect and addressed appropriately.
Barr & Barr will tailor our quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program to be
specifi c for this project. Once established, all subcontractors and vendors will be made
aware of its requirements. Th ey will understand that we expect quality throughout
the project duration from preconstruction thru close-out. It involves all members of
the owner, architect and Barr & Barr team. We must all strive to ensure activities in
which we are involved are accomplished correctly, completely and on time, every time.
Th is approach will help minimize costly delays, budget creep and confl icts.
Prior to Construction
Proactively identifying and avoiding quality-related issues are the foundation of our
QA/QC plan. Drawing on our experiences, we know the sources of these potential
issues and we have developed procedures and processes to avoid problems. During
bidding we highly scrutinize the project documentation. Questions requiring answers
and clarifi cations are generated, submitted to and answered by the architect and
disseminated to the bidders. Complete, clear and concise scopes of work are prepared
to eliminate any potential holes in the project scope. After bidding, submittals are
reviewed, coordinated, and processed so everyone knows exactly what is being provided.
