A cause-effect relationship is one in which a
certain event (the cause) makes another
event happen (the effect).
CAUSE EFFECT

✘ because of; ✘ therefore;
✘ since; ✘ consequently;
✘ as a result of; ✘ this resulted in;
✘ as a consequence of; ✘ hence;
✘ now. ✘ accordingly.
EXAMPLE OF SENTENCES
The school's sports day was cancelled because it was raining.
Therefore, it was moved to next week instead.
