• The Brevard Public Schools web page is located at www.bre- vardschools.org. A variety of news and information is available on the web site for access by the general public. Our goal is to make the web site as useful and meaningful as possible, and to keep it current and timely. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome.
Heart of Brevard
• BPS NEWS is a district-wide publication distributed to more than 80,000 people (including parents and employees) via the district’s mobile app and digital email delivery system, Peachjar. It is a digital flip book available on our website as well. HEART OF BREVARD is published quarterly through the school year for a total of 4 issues. Copies are printed and delivered via our couriers to public places with waiting areas like doctors’ offices, senior centers, libraries, and some restaurants. To have a story included use a media request form found on the website or in the leadership team packet (LTP).
Legacy Letter
• Legacy Letter is a digital newsletter delivered via email to members of the Legacy Club. These members are senior citizens who have signed up to receive a card that gains them free or reduced admission to BPS activities as well as special classes designed just for seniors.
Copies are also placed at retirement communities throughout the county.
BPS Headlines
• BPS Headlines is a community newsletter delivered via email to all employees, local government agencies, partners in edu- cation, and our media partners. It is published as needed for a minimum of 10 issues in a school year. This publication fea- tures quick news items that might be worthy of press coverage as well as news specifically aimed at BPS families, employees and other community stakeholders.
Leadership Team Packet
• The Leadership Team Packet is published weekly by the Superintendent’s Office and is available to all employees through the home page of the district website. It contains both informational items as well as directive items. It is also distributed for information purposes to school board members and the news media.
• Deadline for the Leadership Team Packet is noon Wednesday for publication in the following Monday’s package. Send infor- mation for publication in the Leadership Team Packet to the Office of the Superintendent.
School Board Agenda
• In general, school board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, beginning at 5:30 p.m. except in November, December, January, June and July. Final agenda packets are distributed to board members on Monday of the week prior to the meeting. To allow sufficient time for compila- tion, printing and distribution, agenda items must be submit- ted to the School Board Secretary at least 15 working days prior to the meeting.
