1977 - Enrique Masó adquiere el Hotel Palace.
Primeras elecciones generales en España, el Pa- lace recupera el glamour de la época de su aper- tura: se entrega el Premio Planeta a Jorge Sem- prúm Maura en el hotel; presentaciones como la obra de Fernando Schwartz, a cargo del que fuera ministro de Asuntos Exteriores, Fernando Morán; la presencia de Josep Tarradellas como presidente de la Generalidad de Cataluña...
23 de febrero de 1981 - El Palace se convierte en el “cuartel general” durante el intento de golpe de Estado. Periodistas y políticos pasan la noche entera en el Palace. En la cúpula, en el bar, en el hall, por todos los pasillos, aguardando la resolu- ción de este acontecimiento.
28 de octubre de 1982 - El Palace fue escenario de la celebración de la victoria del Partido So- cialista Obrero Español (PSOE), en las terceras elecciones legislativas desde el restablecimiento de la democracia.

October 28, 1982 - The Palace was the setting for the celebration of the victory of the Spanish So- cialist Party (PSOE) in the third legislative elec- tions since the restoration of democracy.
1989 - Inauguration of the Prado Gallery, trans- forming it into the most fashionable shopping center of the capital of Spain and attracting the high society of Madrid.
