1989 - Inauguración de la Galería del Prado, con- virtiéndose en el centro comercial de moda de la capital de España y atrayendo a la alta sociedad de Madrid.
1989 - Enrique Masó vende el hotel a la cadena italiana de hoteles Ciga, que durante un tiempo fue propiedad del Aga Khan.
1991 - Escenario de la Conferencia de Paz entre árabes y judíos, durante esos días la primera planta fue reservada en su totalidad por la Emba- jada de los Estados Unidos.
1995 - El Palace se convierte en parte de la marca ITT Sheraton y es incluido en su selección Lu- xury Collection.
1997 - El Palace ya forma parte de la nueva gran cadena de hoteles Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Se inicia la renovación casi total del hotel con un coste de 6.450 millones de pesetas.
Diciembre de 1997 - Después de nueve meses de intensos trabajos de reformas, se celebra la nue- va época del Palace con un espectáculo de luz y sonido y con más de 1.200 invitados en la plaza de Neptuno.
Marzo del 2000 - El hotel pasa a formar parte de Westin Hotels and Resorts (una de las marcas de Starwood Hotels & Resorts). A partir de esta fecha adaptó su nombre a The Westin Palace, Madrid.
Octubre del 2001 - Se celebra en el Hotel Palace
la primera conferencia sobre la consolidación y transición democráticas, reservado en su totalidad

December 1997 - After nine months of intense renovation work, the new period of the Palace is celebrated with a show of light and sound and more than 1,200 guests at the Plaza de Neptuno.
March 2000 - The Hotel forms part of the Wes- tin Hotels and Resorts (one of the brands of Star- wood Hotels & Resorts). After this date, it adopts the name of The Westin Palace, Madrid.
October 2001 - The rst conference on the dem- ocratic transition and consolidation is held at the Palace Hotel, which is entirely reserved for seven days and counts with the attendance of presi- dents and ex-presidents from around the world (FRIDE), presided over by Mikhail Gorbachov and the Monarchs of Spain.
2006 - The hotel is bought by the Host Hotels & Resorts group.
