Variable Mandatory Speed Limit Consultation
Highways England is launching a consultation on 26th
March 2018 to seek views on proposals to introduce
variable mandatory speed limits to the planned M1 smart
motorway scheme between junctions 13 and 16.
As part of improvements planned for this scheme, variable
mandatory speed limits will be used to manager traffic
speeds and help reduce congestion, while enabling the
safe operation of the motorway.
The consultation runs form 26th March 2018 and will
close on 23rd April 2018. The consultation document is
