FOOD SERVICE
In these unprecedented times the Food Service Department is taking special precautions to
ensure the safety of all district staff members by following CDC and Department of Public
Health directives. For this reason, there are a few directions that we would ask you all to follow
in regards to breakfast and lunch service on Monday and Tuesday during Institute Days.
The food tables will be set up in the hallway or foyer close to the cafeterias at both North and
South campuses. This is happening because the cafeterias are being used for meeting rooms and
there is a cap of 50 people per room per COVID-19 regulations. As you know, everyone is to be
wearing a mask at all times in the school buildings (except while eating), but I add this reminder
to ensure that you will be wearing your mask while serving yourselves at the food tables.
All breakfast and lunch menu items will be individually wrapped or packaged. NO COFFEE is
being served, so please bring a cup with you if you want coffee each morning. Juice cups and
bottled water will be available for breakfast with pop and water for lunch. Serving barrels will be
labeled for a single product so there will be no need to search through looking for a particular
type of beverage.
Each meeting room should be dismissed at different times to avoid having more than 50 people
serving themselves food at a time. Please get your food and return to your assigned room to eat,
or go to an area where there are fewer than 50 people gathered to eat at one time.
Please remain 6 feet apart at the serving tables and while waiting in line, even with your masks
on, this is required. Please do not touch items unless you plan to take them on your plate. Do
not return any items to the food tables or barrels after you have removed them.
The teacher's cafeterias and the food service kitchens and serving areas are off-limits for any
staff other than food service employees. We are trying to limit all exposure and ensure sanitation
is maintained in all food service areas. If you need to speak to a manager, please call the kitchen
office and the manager will come out to speak to you in the main cafeteria area.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these difficult times. Your safety
and our ability to remain healthy and ready to serve our students in the coming months is our
main focus as we put these new procedures in place as school instruction resumes!
