Crocodile cracks
This is a common type of failure of flexible
pavements. This is also known as fatigue failure.
Crocodile cracks are interconnected or interlaced
cracks which form a network of multi-sided blocks
resembling the skin of crocodile.
Block size can range from 100mm to 300mm.
Causes
Excessive loading
Weak surface, base, or subgrade
Thin surface or base
Poor drainage
Cures
Remove and replace
Mill and overlay
