Memorial Committee
The Memorial Fund provides church members and friends the opportunity to make charitable gifts to First Churches in memory of loved ones. Most gifts are unrestricted, although the donor may designate the gift for a particular program or purpose, such as Children’s Choir, etc.
The Memorial Committee keeps track of these gifts and sends acknowledgments to all donors, as well as keeping the family of the deceased aware of who has made the donations in memory of their loved one. The Committee also maintains a prioritized Wish List of potential church projects and decides how the memorial funds are used; based on available monies, the benefit to the church, and the fit between the project and the person in whose memory the funds were donated. All proposals for memorial funds usage are then brought to the Administrative Ministries Board for final approval.
