Jun 6 ~ National Arts Drive ~ We’re inviting the community at-large to take a drive and experience the creative culture living in their own neighborhood. The driving experience will be paired with a mobile website that contains an interactive map. As “Drivers” approach an installation or performance they can donate directly to the artist, follow them on social media, and/or visit their online shop or website (all from a safe and healthy distance). INFO: nationalartsdrive.com/.
Paul Mahder Gallery Online ~ Exploring the World Opened Up by a Work of Art ~ Chris Blum - “Fake News”. Nothing subtle here. No lack of artistic voice. No nuanced interpretation. Blum has a point to make and he makes it: While the truth may set you free — telling a lie in today’s culture is more compelling . . . and captive- making. www.paulmahdergallery.com
Cloverdale Sculpture Trail ~ Due to the current shelter in place orders, the 2020/2021 Cloverdale Sculpture Trail installation was postponed until restrictions are lifted. When we are able to install the new sculptures, the value and beauty of our public art will again be on display in downtown Cloverdale. As an alternative, we have created a “Sculpture Trail Flip Book” as a preview, which can be viewed online at www.cloverdalesculpturetrail.org.
Arts Education continues at Sebastopol Center for the Arts virtually. Lectures are presented virtually and allow for interaction with the Center’s instructors. Current and future offerings are posted on the website @ sebarts.org
SebArts Virtual Open Studios ~ Art at the Source & Art Trails have been canceled. Thanks to grant funding from Sonoma County, The Sebastopol Center for the Arts is producing SebArts Virtual Open Studios, a separate one-time non-juried event, offering artists the opportunity to gain exposure, connect with the community and make sales during this time of social distancing. The virtual, interactive portion of this event will take place the first two weekends of September. Additionally, the artists can open their studios in person if legally viable and if they feel comfortable doing so. Interested artists can E-mail Tenae Stewart at tenaes@sebarts.org with any questions or to receive regular updates on the event.
