Sonoma County road maintenance crews are already mowing roadsides to decrease fire hazards as we head into summer. Hot days have begun and firefighters are predicting a long, difficult fire season. Being prepared is not an option.
It’s time for what we call “vegetation management.” Removing dead and dying limbs and trees, clearing ladder fuels that spread fire from low-lying undergrowth into treetops and beyond.
