BENNY

MADALYN
(Looks at watch) Oop! Client meeting. (Exiting) Think about what I said.

BENNY
(Following her) Think about what I said! Your little Benny Rosen, Junior—still out there--larger than
life—standin‘ up for his city, his world—his agh!

He trips over his trouser bottoms, sprawls to the floor in front of the kids, quickly jumps to his feet.

BENNY
(Awkward moment as they stare at each other, him irritated, kids stifling smiles; he kiddingly half-
feigns innocence) Never seen a pratfall? (Kids scoff) Come. (To Alyson) Read.

ALYSON
(Reads) For immediate release. "Director of New York‘s first professional showcase for kids, Benny
Rosen Junior, has announced he‘s- ‖ What‘s this? (Playing as if reading) "... moving back in with his
life-long sweetheart, top talent agent Madalyn Shapiro?" (Excited) Really?
