BENNY
These people.
MADALYN

BENNY
No? They did a documentary about George Raft, for God's sake. Remember? And Jolson. Jolson I
understand. But Raft? Even P.T. Barnum got a shot. The circus is more important than me.
MADALYN
(Moment) You done? You‘re gonna have two thousand people see you and your kids.
BENNY
One thousand, seven hundred and forty three.
MADALYN
Whatever Talcoff did would‘ve been about Kelly. This is about you—the world seeing you--what you
do with those kids. Nobody‘s ever seen that before—not on a Broadway stage.
BENNY
I been on a million Broadway stages.
MADALYN
Your kids haven‘t. (Moment for effect) Ya don‘t see Bob Monroe offerin‘ ‗em something like that.
BENNY
(Moment) Damn you‘re good. Ya shoulda‘ been an agent.
MADALYN
Look me in the eye. I‘m on the hook here for ten grand. You don‘t say a word on that set.
