The  gures above exclude the Electronic Reserves, interlibrary loan requests, decentralised collections and withdrawn items.
A total of 11066 items were withdrawn as they were redundant, or irreparably damaged, out dated or had been replaced by newer editions.
The Library expanded existing subscriptions in subject areas of high demand or that o ered new South African content:
LexisNexis Practical Guidance, a new product supporting the legal curriculum in South Africa Mendeley Citation Management, an upgrade to the institutional version available to all Unisa clients Communication Source, a new full-text EBSCOHost database that replaced the subscription to the previous purely bibliographic communication science databaset
Juta South African Law Online, a new annual agreement covering 55 selected major South African law titles published by Juta Law
The Library maintained and renewed subscriptions to di erent South African National Library Consortium (SANLiC) publishers’ agreements which enabled access to new content through the addition of new start-up journals within these agreements. New multi-year SANLiC license agreements for the following publishers were signed:
Emerald Journals, that included the addition of The Case Journal and the Emerging Markets Case Studies titles;
