A new Springer Nature Journals agreement that is a combination of the previous SpringerLink Journals, Nature Publishing Group and Palgrave Journals agreements;
ScienceDirect Freedom Collection Journals, a new 3 year agreement;
Thieme Chemistry Journals, a 3 year agreement for the 5 chemistry journals;
LexisNexis (South African Law) products agreement, incorporating new content for African law
8.1 Collections per College
Proportional to the student population and subject o erings, the largest number of items was added to the College of Human Sciences. Other collection development criteria used to expand the collections include:

Subject areas for speci c development
Annual gap analysis in subject areas to identify gaps which are evaluated against the researcher and subject pro les and the gap closure titles are obtained to ensure a complete collection
Managing the di erent collections, by replacing lost or worn items, write o items that are no longer used due to obsolescence, edition replacement or due to abusive use and neglect
Policies, di erent selection techniques and a myriad number of procedures to identify the correct title at just the right time
The di erent format types such as DVD’s, electronic journals, print journals, electronic books, database packages
