Looking Ahead: Strengthening Resilience and Relevance
As we prepare for 2025, we are mindful of the complexities of an increasingly volatile global
landscape. The return of the Trump administration to the United States and growing geopolitical
tensions will have implications for multilateralism and international cooperation on platforms such
as APEC, ASEAN, and the United Nations.
Against this backdrop, NYAA's mission is more critical than ever. We remain committed to
equipping our young people with the agility, critical thinking, and global awareness necessary to
lead with integrity and navigate an uncertain future with confidence.
Appreciation and Acknowledgements
I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to the NYAA Secretariat, led with vision and passion by
our Executive Director, Mr James Soh, and Deputy Executive Director, Ms Aileen Yap. Their
steadfast commitment, strategic foresight, and tireless work have been instrumental in every
milestone we have achieved this year.
I also extend my sincere thanks to my fellow Council Members for your guidance, support, and
shared belief in the transformative power of youth development.
Together, we are building a future shaped by capable, compassionate, and courageous young
leaders. Let us press forward with unity and conviction as we embrace the opportunities and
responsibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you.
