02 SLIPPED REEF KNOT
Formed in just the same way as a Reef Knot, but with one end doubled through
to look like half a bow (look at your shoelaces). The advantage comes when
trying to undo the knot if it has worked up very tight. The doubled end can then
be given a good, hard pull and the first overhand knot falls undone. The load will
then release the second part. It’s very good if your fingers are cold and numb.
