 FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
“A SEASON TO CELEBRATE!”
  elcome to the Susquehanna Chorale’s 40th anniversary,
celebrating the Chorale’s “seasons” – the achievements of our past, the excitement of our present, and the vision for our future.
We began with eleven singers in 1981 and have grown to 39 singers
in the current adult Chorale. The Youth Chorale started with twenty singers in 1989 and now averages over 150 students in three choirs. We first performed with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in 1996 and have since partnered with them 23 times to present glorious choral works with orchestra. The list could
go on-- first performance, first ACDA performance, first CD, first European tour, first award, etc. Each “first”
has been followed by “many”! The Susquehanna Chorale has been on an extraordinary journey thanks to the countless number of dedicated singers, staff members, and supporters over the years who have shared our passion for the choral art and made this journey possible.
Our Youth Choral Festival returns
in November, featuring young singers from grade four through
the first year of college, along with the Susquehanna Chorale. Each choir will sing several selections with their conductor, followed by all choirs combining for Mack Wilberg’s
stirring Anthem of Peace. This is a concert that will inspire hope for the future!
The Chorale concerts will present many favorites from past years, interspersed with selections that are new to us, including the world premiere of Dan Forrest’s setting
