AQUAPONICS
Our Own Aquaponics was inaugurated on 6th October 2016 and is currently in its eighth season. Each season lasts for a month and the produce is sold within the OOD staff community. It is an initiative that promotes eco-friendly farming, self-sustainability and entrepreneurial skills.
Aquaponics is a unique organic farming process that uses zero chemicals and provides healthy chemical-free vegetables Fish waste is the only fertilizer. Students perform multiple roles – from farming to marketing and are engaged in every process. The produce is then sold to the SLT, SMT and teachers at a nominal cost. This has been a fun-filled learning experience that has taught them the intricacies of farming, advertising, marketing as well as finance.
