HYDROPONICS
‘WE PLANT TREES TO BENEFIT ANOTHER GENERATION’
Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, which is a method of growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. The Our Own Hydroponics is its seventh season. This year the hydroponics team has grown herbs such as coriander and mint in our existing system. The revenue generated is utilized economically by preparing the nutrient solution in the school laboratory itself. Since Hydroponics is an interdisciplinary field that involves multiple disciplines, students learn to integrate their learning through this exposure.
Ex-hydroponics members conduct training sessions to train and share their experiences with the new enthusiastic agriculturists every Thursday. Hydroponics team members also visit the Hydroponics Farm and a Graduation Ceremony is held at the end of the season for the team members.
We, the enthusiastic agriculturists, believe that ‘The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies.’
