GIRL GUIDES
The mission of Girl Guide is to enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
This year, Girl Guides partnered with the Robin Hood Army, a volunteer based NGO in India to donate uniforms to underprivileged children living in slums. Uniforms donated by OOD students were sorted, hand packed and carried to the organization by volunteering Girl Guides during their summer break. Undoubtedly, this unique learning experience led them to further their altruistic cause. In November, the Girl Guides collected and donated clothes to an orphanage in India through our OOD representative, Ms. Beena Balachandran.
In September, the Girl Guides attended a workshop on ‘Grooming and Building Self-Confidence’, enabling them to build their self-confidence and helping them to be better groomed individuals.
As always, Girl Guides have performed their duties sincerely, whether it is maintaining discipline at the Inter-House and Inter-School Athletic Meet or guiding guests through the corridors of OOD during the iconic KSV Elocution and the Middle School Musical, the Girl Guides have been a symbol of hospitality and courteousness.
