In the fourth Edition of TEDx conducted by GEMS Our Own English High School –Sharjah Boys Branch on 2 February 2019, two students from our school - Anam Fatima - Grade 12I and Shreevikaa Kannan - Grade 11D, - participated. This year’s topic was Creating Future.

INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM
52 students of Grades 11 and 12 appeared for the IELTS examination in the school this year. The British Council provided tips and techniques to the candidates and subsequently the school served as a test Centre for the students.

ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE
GEMS Our Own Indian School, Dubai, in association with the Indian Consulate conducted the 19th Annual Inter- School Debate Competition. Alia Aysha and Suha Baqthiar - Grade 11 represented our school. Suha Baqthiar bagged the Runner-up for the Best Speaker.

HINDI UTSAV 2018
In Hindi Utsav 2018, the National level Inter-UAE Hindi and Arabic Competition held on Saturday, 8th December, 2018 at the Indian Consulate, our students won prizes in various categories. Folk story Writing, Junior, First Prize - Ananya Thakur, Poetry Translation from Tamil to Hindi, Senior – Shwetha Ramesh, Hindi Extempore, Junior, Second Prize-Himanshi Harwani, Hindi Extempore, Senior: Second prize – Satviki Shukla, Story or Poem from a Picture, Junior, Third Prize – Riya Premchandani, Poetry Translation from Malayalam to Hindi, Senior, Third Prize – Gayathri Rajeev Kumar.

LINGUA ESPLENDIDA- CULTURAL FESTIVAL
The GEMS New Millennium School Al Khail hosted the Lingua Esplendida, An Inter-School competition,wherein around nine schools participated in various cultural events. Our school bagged the First Position in the French Cuisine and Arabic Spellathon.
