From the Superior’S DeSk
n this media-driven world, we realize the immense pow-
Ier and potential of effective communication. The ongo-
ing pandemic has impressed upon us the need to be creative
and flexible in our means of communication. It also reminds
us that we have to build up a strong, permanent presence
in social media if we are to remain apostolically relevant.
As priests and religious, we have an important mission of
standing up for the truth and promoting gospel values. To do
this effectively, we have to develop a number of skills such as
clear reasoning, critical thinking, creative synthesis and inter-
esting ways of expression. This of course is a life-long process
but the Juniorate is year specifically dedicated to the learning
and mastering of such skills. This is done through a number
of activities such as grammar exercises, story writing, homi-
lies, declamations, media courses, dramatics etc. This Junio-
rate magazine is another such activity. It offers you Juniors
the opportunity to explore different ideas and express your
views in a manner that is creative, critical and coherent.
On behalf of the ‘seniors’ at Vinayalaya, I thank you dear
Juniors for the many ways in which you contribute to the house.
Thanks to you, we have vibrant liturgies, cheerful conversations,
and an atmosphere of life and energy. Your idealism and enthu-
siasm fill us with a sense of hope and optimism. Keep dreaming
big dear brothers. May the spirit of the Magis continue to burn
brightly as you communicate to the world, in your own unique
ways, the eternal message of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
