Good evening to you all and welcome to
Chalky Lane for tonight's game. I'd like to
extend that mesasage to all connected with
Sandhurst Town and hope you enjoy your vis-
it and have a safe journey home afterwards.
ell, after what seemed like an absolute age of a pre-season we were
Wable to finally kick a ball in a competitive game for the first time in
almost six months.
On paper it all went pretty much to plan, a win meaning three points and
a clean sheet gets us off the mark early and that's always good.
It was nice to see a good healthy crowd supporting the two teams on Sat-
urday and for me in particular it was nice to spot lots of familiar faces in
and around the ground which is always a positive thing and long may that
continue. Larger attendances are something that all non league clubs are
probably hoping to capitalise on under the circumstances and we are no
different and it definitely helps the player's. Saturday was hopefully a sign
of things to come.
In regards to the actual performance on Saturday I was most pleased with
how we stuck to the task. We worked hard from start to finish and earned
the right to play and did so well at times. We've got a very young team but
overall it was a very mature performance.
Our opponents today always seem to churn out a good side and have al-
ways been difficult to play against over the years so I expect nothing less
tonight. We'll have to match Saturday's effort as a minimum to take any-
thing from the match and if we do that then we give ourselves a chance.
At the moment it's very much one match at a time and let's see where that
takes us.
I hope you all enjoy the game and have a safe journey back home.
