HUSBAND, ALTZHEIMER, AND MOTHER GOOSE
A wife was busily at work in the kitchen. Her husband, who su ered from dementia was in the living room, sitting quietly as usual, show- ing no emotion. On his lap was a copy of my rst book that he was paging through. Suddenly, the wife was surprised and overjoyed to hear him laughing. She rushed in and found he was laughing at a spread in the book containing a photo of a mother goose with four goslings trailing behind her in single le. The accompanying haiku poem reads: “are you envious? / if only your children were / as well disciplined.”
