Hellifield WI’s 70th Year
We have started the year with a bang. Hellifield WI held it’s 70th
anniversary party celebrations in February and unveiled a collage
put together diligently by members, depicting life as a WI Member
in Hellifield – such fun. The collage is proudly displayed centre
stage in the village hall. A historical booklet outlining activities that
have taken place during the WI’s 70 years was distributed. To cap
off the evening, which also involved partaking in lots of food and
wine, the committee performed four hilarious sketches, which had
members in fits of laughter (of course it could have been the
effects of the wine!).
In March visitors and members had a We welcome visitors and new
most enjoyable presentation from John members to come to our meeting on
Sutcliffe who spent his childhood in Thursday 20th June at 7.15 pm in the

presentation. At
their April meeting
there will be
entertainment from
Philip Taylor who
is a musician and
comedian. In May,
Christine Dodds
will show members
how to make
lavender bags.
