The tart is as light as a feather
Writers shouldn’t have favourites but Blue Cilantro is a restaurant to which I’m drawn to time and time again because it’s just so brilliant on every level. The fresh blue and white décor is stunning and that, coupled with the professionalism and helpfulness of the wait and bar staff, means diners are at ease and looking forward to their meal
the minute they walk in through the heavy wooden doors.
Hang out at the blue Perspex bar and get to know mixologist Miguel, who will create
a cocktail out of fresh local ingredients tailored to your tastes that evening. Chef Shetty, owner and chef extraordinaire behind the restaurant is something of a legend, and has crafted a menu that will set your tastebuds singing as he successfully marries Asian spices with a contemporary and fresh Mediterranean approach.
Scallops and crab cakes are hugely popular appetisers, gorgeously presented and spiced to perfection. For something different and delicious, try their light-as-a-feather tart, filled with creamy burrata, compressed local tomatoes in a rosemary shell served with pumpkin seeds and a super special basil ice cream and a truffle balsamic. For mains, try the tandoori-baked snapper when it’s available (an absolute favourite dish) because it is to die for, or maybe the Mediterranean paella that is filled with the most delicious seafood imaginable. Try their four or six course dinner menus to get an all- round feel for what this restaurant can offer, or try their tapas menu for a convivial and fun enjoyment of Blue Cilantro cuisine, or just pop in for lunch for a real treat during the day. Whatever your choice, you will be glad you came.
