  GARDEN OF APPRECIATION CEREMONY
In the spirit of remembrance and celebration, the Annual Garden of Appreciation Ceremony took place in November, drawing nearly 300 individuals to gather and pay tribute to the lives of their loved ones, commemorated with engraved bricks laid in a designated place in the garden.
This heartfelt event serves as a poignant occasion to pay tribute to, and remember the people inscribed on new bricks, as well as acknowledge those guests who are reflecting on the lives of their loved ones already honoured in the garden.
We are incredibly grateful to the businesses, individuals, schools and groups who contribute and help to ensure this ceremony is a success and a special occasion for all those attending. An extra special acknowledgment of the Rotary Club of Hutt River Valley for their ongoing dedication and commitment.
As the surrounding garden grows and as each brick finds its place in the garden, it echoes the sentiment that, though physical presence may fade, the essence of our loved ones lives on, interwoven with the shared experiences of a community bound by the enduring power of love and remembrance.
The Garden of Appreciation, located in Petone was started in November 2005 and is a joint community project between Te Omanga Hospice, the Rotary Club of Hutt River Valley and the Hutt City Council.
If you would like to remember a loved one with an engraved brick, please contact our Fundraising team on 04 979 6681 or email fundraising@teomanga.org.nz.
The next ceremony will be held in November.
