News and views – March 2024
Welcome to our first newsletter of the year.
As we begin this new year, I would like to acknowledge all our supporters whose generosity ensures we can continue to provide our quality, compassionate care, free of charge to our patients and their whānau. Thank you, I really do appreciate your support.
Over the Christmas and summer period there are often a number of events and fundraisers held. You will see in the pages of this newsletter some of the fantastic initiatives that have recently happened within our community. We are incredibly grateful to all the individuals, groups and businesses who run various fundraising activities to support our hospice.
You help us to be there for people when they need us most, whenever and wherever they are, free of charge.
Thank you for your support.
At the end of last year, we held our Volunteer Christmas Party. A wonderful opportunity for us to honour and acknowledge our brilliant volunteers for their outstanding contributions.
We also held our annual Garden of Appreciation ceremony, a special time for people to gather and pay tribute to the lives of their loved ones, commemorated with engraved bricks in the garden.
Coming up, our Annual Street Appeal is taking place on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May. We would love it if you could volunteer some time to collect donations for
Te Omanga Hospice. Details on how to get involved are on the following pages.
We also hope you will save the date for our much- anticipated annual Vintners’ Lunch, which will be held on Sunday 15 September at the Lower Hutt Events Centre. Tickets will go on sale closer to the time. For now, you can register your interest at events@teomanga.org.nz.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support, we understand the cost of living is high at the moment, and I know finances are tight for many right now. However, if you would like to make a donation, you’ll find a donation slip on the back. Any amount you can donate – large or small – will come together to do a power of good for people in our community.
Warmest regards
