49 loved ones were honoured in the garden in 2023.
A big shoutout to this group of Year 7 students from Wellesley Independent School for Boys, who dedicated their time to tidying the gardens as part of their community service initiative. Rebecca, Community and Events Programme Manager, commended the boys for their hard work, expressing gratitude for their contribution to maintaining the gardens for the enjoyment of all visitors.

                                                     CELEBRATING OUR VOLUNTEERS
   Each year, our Volunteer
Christmas Party is a specia
occasion that is dedicated
honouring our exceptional volunteers.
Te Omanga Hospice Volunteer Manager, Rachel, says, “Our annual volunteer party enables us to recognise and reward the significant and invaluable work and time these precious volunteers give throughout the year so that we are always giving the most excellent care to our patients and families.”
“This party is our chance to serve and treat them for the afternoon and to recognise their years of service with awards. It is also a chance for volunteers who often work different times and shifts from each other to meet each other, make connections and share experiences. We are thankful for each and every one of our special team.”
Our volunteers are a vital part of the work we do at Te Omanga Hospice. In the past year alone, 442 volunteers generously devoted 39,486 hours of their time, which equates to $997,525 of essential services.
If you are interested in volunteering for Te Omanga Hospice, please call our Volunteer Manager on 04 974 8121 or email volunteers@teomanga.org.nz.
