  Some owners and managers of businesses spend so much time at courses or reading management and theory books when perhaps their energy and expenditure would be better focussed on other areas of their business and simple business processes. Over the years I read books too, but they were simple business books like Michael Gerber’s The E-Myth where you got the message in the first two chapters and it was easy to understand and apply the principles – good, basic, understandable business principles. There was not too much about the science or psychology of management, as we can overdo that.
I have not experienced a company’s success and great bottom-line profits by pursuing management excellence and theories rather than pursuing management processes and systems. I have seen many companies obsessed with excellence in management, yet their model and business are struggling and they are not making money. Reverse that into managers focusing on the basics of business: the processes, opportunities, systems, right model, the customer, culture (getting employee buy-in) and
