EFTHYMIOU VILLA, PORTO HELI, GREECE
PORTO HELI AXO
The direct influence on the design of this villa rests on the tradition of the Greco-Roman country villa. A simple pergola at the end of a long courtyard wall accentuates access to the villa. The inner courtyard is, in fact, a peristyle around which a villa and a guesthouse are organised. The peristyle’s role in addition to serving as a cover is to organise and distribute the activities that take place in it and in the house. The villa has many open spaces that are used for relaxation and entertainment. There are various exedras, pavilions, terraces, richly landscaped gardens and courts that have their role and function at certain times of the day.
