The villa is entered diagonally from the south-west through a half-round collonaded exedra which acts as a recentering device. Once within the exedra, the foreshortened perspective further ac- centuates the 20ft high prothalamos. This building acts as a porter’s lodge and houses the staff on its second floor. Its central part is voided, and its slim colonnettes frame the main peristyle court, the house proper and the breathtaking view of the promontory and the sea beyond.
A most spacious flight of steps connect the prothalamos with the peristyle court, which forms a parterre nine feet lower. The east range of the peristyle houses accommodation for the guests. The west range houses the kitchens, the dining hall and the outdoor dining loggia through which one enjoys great views of the pool outbuild- ings and the sea beyond. The main house is situated on the axis with the prothalamos and steps and organised on two floors. The living/sitting and entertainment areas are on the ground floor, while the second floor houses the master bedroom suite. On both ground and second floors, the house features porches from which one can enjoy the most spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the sea beyond.
This villa is entered from the west following the topography and al- ways captivated by the sea views. A portico and a small porter’s lodge mark the entry to the central peristyle court. To the north, guest ac- commodation buildings and staff buildings of different sizes and vol- umes are bound by a continuous arcade that forms the peristyle court’s spatial enclosure. The guest and staff build- ings all have their own organisational arrange- ment featuring various external atria, porches and pergolas.
Upon entering the peristyle court, the ro- tunda overlooks the terraced gardens, the pool, the nymphaea and the sea beyond.
