SEVEN BRINDLEY PLACE, BIRMINGHAM, UK
Seven Brindleyplace forms and is formed by the two main squares of the Brindleyplace development in Birmingham. Its location suggests a composite building that would be both figure and ground, displaying continuity with the urban fabric and having a distinct figural presence.
The building transfers its weight trough two-storey arcaded base. The arches and building enclosure are finished in finely executed brickwork with simple stone trims. The whole building is capped with metal cornice while the entire top floor is made of glass and metal terminated with perimeter metal eaves.
The design generally aims to bring together innovatively classical elements and contemporary construction and ma- terials.
