Grommet made from ¼-inch (6 mm) manila with a seizing tied in it to match

eyes seized on ends of the pudding.

Next, you’ll cover the polypropylene core you’ve just made with about a
million hitches in manila. This part of the pudding takes the longest to do, but
don’t give up! The result is worth your patience.

Due to space limits, these illustrations won’t show the rope strands at their full
               lengths.
                  Unlay a single strand from the 24-foot (7.3 m) length of ½-inch (12 mm)
manila. Tape the ends of that strand, middle it, and set this point across the girth
of the fender. Wrap one complete turn around the fender with one end of the
strand, working outward from the middle. Do the same with the other end of the

strand, going the other way from the middle.
If you made a centered eye, it will sit between the middle and left strands. Do
not pull the work too tight.
