Our 2018 specialty shows were designated classes at the Kenosha KC in early September. We had an
entry of 10 each day, which, for us, isn’t too bad. There was a major in dogs each day.
Saturday’s judge was Mrs. Ruth Zimmerman who was very kind to the dogs and pleasant to the exhibitors.
Her Best of Winners/Winners Dog was the red rough Elite’s Storming The House At Jepa’s from the 6-9
class. Hondo is bred by Michael Heldt, Ken Wronski, and Kurt Williams. Owned by Paula, Jeff, and
Hannah Lester, shown by Paula. Reserve Dog from the 12-18 month class was the rough Red Raspberry
Delight Di-Bozo Anim, an import bred by Bozidar Bozo Nedelijkovic and also owned by the Lesters.
Winners Bitch & Reserve both came from the Open Black class. WB was Mary Roush’s rough import,
Albus Regnum Blackwin, bred by V. Yu Belomestnov, shown by Mary. Reserve was the rough Charmar
Creole Cocktail, bred, owned, and shown by Jill Radke.
Best of Breed was the smooth black bitch CH Flamingstar I Put A Spell On You, bred and owned by Cathy
Clapp, co-owned and shown by Tina Alexander. Best of Opposite was the red rough CH Jidi Legend Just
Do It Ivan At Dreamseekers, bred by Nan McGee and Diana Hillygus, owned by Bob, Katie, and Bernadette
Bruce, shown by Bernie. Select Dog & Award of Merit was the black rough import CH Inoris Cunami, bred
by Jolanta Taujenene, owned by Stacey Perry and Jane Collen, shown by Stacey.
Our Best of Breed winner went on to win Group 1st under judge Jack Ireland as well as NOHS Group 1st!
A great day for Chows!
Our Sunday breed judge was Mrs Christine Calcinari of Canada. Best of Winners/Winners & Reserve Dog
were repeats of Saturday. Sunday’s Winners Bitch was Charmar Creole Cocktail with Reserve going to
Albus Regnum Blackwin. CH Flamingstar I Put A Spell On You repeated her BOB win with Best Opposite
going to CH Inoris Cunami. Select Dog was the red rough GCH Padow’s Beginning Of The Arrow, bred by
Kurt Williams, owned by Ron and Andrew Eugenio, shown by Andrew. Award of Merit was given to CH Jidi
Legend Just Do It Ivan At Dreamseekers. Our BOB winner won Group 4th under Mrs. Zimmerman.
Saturday we held our usual luncheon for exhibitors and club members after the Chow judging. Thank you
to everyone who brought food for the potluck! We had a very nice time socializing and delighted in meeting
Lisa & Mike Cone’s new bitch puppy and Kevin Meske, Mike Bledsoe, and Dennis Balczewski’s new dog
puppy “Artie”. Might see them both in the show ring in the future. The Koller’s beautiful red rough girl
“Qharhma” was also in attendance.
Sadly, we received the unhappy news that the show site we’ve enjoyed for the past several years will not
be available any longer. The all breed show has been held here for 40 years but the fair association in
charge of the grounds has decided they would rather host flea markets than dog shows. (kind of ironic,
isn’t it?!) The KC is moving to a January cluster in Illinois, at least for 2019, and we aren’t sure just what we
are going to do yet. We are exploring options and will make an announcement when we know something
definite.
Wishing you all the best over this holiday season and a very happy new year!
