An Invitation to Become a
GSABA Member Ambassador

Membership is the essence of our Association. Our members voices allow us to be
heard in the government affairs arena, in City Halls across 19 counties and be effective at
the state and national capitols. Your leadership team and Membership Co-Chairs, Mike
Sowry and Karen Neighbors have planned a new and exciting membership recruitment
and retention plan for 2019.

As many of you may know, I presented my presidential theme for the year at GALA on
November 30th at the Pearl Stable, which is Take 5! The GSABA Member Ambassador
Jeff Buell program will embrace the Take 5 theme. We are inviting every member who would like to
President serve on the Membership Committee this year to invest 5 hours per month in the different

areas of membership; recruitment, retention and networking.
Your 5-hour investment could be attending a Membership Mixer and networking with our new members, serving on the
Membership Committee and attending bi-monthly meetings, calling members who have joined in the last six months,
delivering new member packets personally or sharing a Starbucks coffee with a new member and guide them on how to get
involved with your Association.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, join us for our Member Ambassador Kickoff Meeting at Paesanos
Restaurant (across from the Association) on Tuesday, March 26th from 4:30pm to 5:00pm to share details on how to be a part
of the program, followed by a Happy Hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
Please join me, Mike Sowry, Karen Neighbors, Kristi Sutterfield, GSABA Sr. Leadership Team, Membership Committee Members
and Staff for this fun and informative kickoff meeting. Haley King joined GSABA as the Director of Membership on February 25th
and we want to introduce her to you.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Rally Day on Wednesday, March 20th. I want to urge you to ride the bus that will leave
at 8:30am and return at 8pm that same day. Join your Senior Officers as we make the trip to Austin to participate in the Texas
Association of Builders (TAB) state wide Rally Day. You can buy your tickets online at sabuilders.com/events/legislative-rally-day
for $15 per member, and includes breakfast, lunch, a reception hosted by TAB and dinner/drinks on the ride home. Our elected
officials want to hear from you personally. There is strength in numbers!

We can’t underestimate the importance of supporting pro-housing candidates on the local, state and national levels. Join us
for our new THREE-PAC Skeet Shoot Fundraiser on Wednesday, March 7th from 1pm to 7pm at the San Antonio Gun Club. Your
personal check (that will be divided equally between our local, state and national Political Action Committees) is all you need to
participate.

Put a team of four together, $100 per team member donation, and enjoy an incredible dinner with scotch and bourbon
tastings. Your personal check of $250 gives you an opportunity to win a 20-gauge shotgun.
