The 86th Legislature is in Full Swing!


                                          There is a lot happening at our State Capitol and I want to urge you to attend our upcoming Rally
                                         Day on Wednesday, March 20th. Our ‘Grass Roots’ efforts are critical to advancing our legislative
                                         priorities on the local, state and national levels. The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) will host
                                         Rally Day in Austin, TX with their 28 local associations from across Texas. Our elected officials want
                                         to hear from their constituents.
                                          The bus will leave the Greater San Antonio Builders Association parking lot at 8:30 am on
                                         Wednesday, March 20th to travel to Austin. Your $15 investment covers transportation, breakfast,
                                         lunch and dinner.
                                          TAB is tracking hundreds of bills, and Governor Abbott recently identified Emergency Items that
                                         both houses have made a priority:
              Kristi Sutterfield                  School Finance Reform and Increasing Teacher Pay • Increase School Safety
             Executive Vice President
                                                     Greater access to Mental Health Care Services • Property Tax Reform
                                                         Expanded Disaster Response and Readiness Programs

           Please join committed members from across the State as we discuss housing issues with our Representatives and Senators. Our ultimate
          goal is to ensure we protect the home building and remodeling industries, and that Texas remains a great place to raise a family and do
          business.
           Speaking of doing business, GSABA has a dynamite class coming up on Tuesday, May 7th at 11:30 am at the Association, lunch will be
          served. Don Shelton, Partner with Bush Rudnicki Shelton, PC, will teach a class on The Top 5 Cost Effective Risk Management Strategies for
          Builders, Remodelers, Contractors and Sub-Contractors.
           If you own a business, lead a business, or serve on a management/sales team, you will not want to miss this seminar. Don will share what
          the risks are for a business owner being sued and ways to minimize that risk.
           Don will give an intensive overview on the most cost-effective ways to decrease your liability and the possibility of litigation. Most of
