Important Information on new Builder Registration

Program in the City of San Antonio and the upcoming CPS
Energy Meeting on Tuesday, August 13 at 11:30am

Contractors Connect Program

The Development Services Department for the City of San Antonio has implemented a new
program with three contractor registration categories (includes Builders and Remodelers).
If you fill out your application, pay your fee, sign the Code of Ethics Acknowledgement Form,
provide confirmation of your general insurance requirement and pass the FBI Background
Kristi Sutterfield check, you will qualify for the Registered Contractor level.

To qualify for the Registered Contractor Plus level, you must be current with all permitting fees,
have no builder related contactor infractions and a take a minimum of two training classes approved by the City’s Chief Building Official.
The highest registration level for Builders and Remodelers is the Premier level and requires an ICC code designation. Your leadership
team has made recommendations to the City of San Antonio DSD team to include additional designations such as the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), Certified Aging in Place
(CAPS) and other trainings, such as the 10 hour OSHA class.

We are working closely with the DSD staff to provide the course materials and hope to get the highest level of registration expanded in
the very near future.
The Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA) is pleased to announce that we have classes certified by the City scheduled to
get you to the Registered Contractor Plus level right away.

CPS Energy Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 – An Update on Gas Meter Installations and Rough-in Inspections

Pleases join the GSABA Leadership Team, your Government Affairs Chairs, and key CPS representatives on Tuesday, August 13 ,
11:30am at GSABA in the ballroom for lunch. The CPS Senior Management Team which oversees gas installations will join us to discuss
the steps they are taking to address the delays in getting gas meters set in a timely manner, as well as rough-in inspections performed
and passed in the county.

We urge our Builder members to join us from 11:30am – 1:00pm for lunch on Tuesday, August 13 in the ballroom at GSABA. You are
