NOTARIES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2002

Coming into operation - 1 February 2004

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Deemsters by section 29 of the Advocates Act
1995(), and of all other enabling powers, the following Regulations are hereby made :-

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Notaries (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and,
subject to section 29(4) of the Advocates Act 1995, shall come into operation on 1 February

2004 .

Amendment of S.D. 671/00

2. In the Notaries Regulations 2000 (b) —

(a) after regulation 2(3)(a) insert —
"(aa) a statement in the form contained in Part 2 of the Schedule, with the

necessary modifications, completed by a Notary Public in the Island;

and";

(b) after regulation 2 insert —
"Conditions

2A.
It is a condition for the purposes of section 29(1)(b) of the Advocates
Act 1995 that the applicant for a licence to act as a notary has either —
(a) undertaken appropriate training in notarial law and practice; or

(b) has appropriate experience in notarial law and practice."

(c) in the Schedule —

(i) at the beginning insert -
"PART 1";
