The mooring hitch is a simple, quick-release knot that can be
used for a temporary mooring. It can be released without
even having to leave the boat, by simply giving a quick pull on
the working end, and yet it will hold fast while under tension.
However, the mooring hitch is only intended as a
temporary fixture so it should not be relied upon if you are
going to leave your vessel unattended. other useFul Knots

Form a small bight in the
working end and weave it
across the loop, going under the
standing part and coming out on
top of the loop. This part forms
the locking draw-loop, which
allows the knot to be released
quickly.

Tighten to complete the knot.
