The post hitch is also known as the double pile hitch and
is used to secure a line around a post or pile. It is most
commonly used to moor a boat to a pile on the dock.
It is also a very useful knot for campers, as it can secure a
tent flap to a post to stop it from flapping around in the
wind. It is quick to tie, holds securely and is easy to untie. other useFul Knots
