This is an invaluable knot for tying together an awkward
bundle of differently sized objects; it’s especially useful if
you don’t want them to roll around on the deck in rough
                weather.
It can also be used as a clamp while nailing or glueing
something in place. The hitch is formed in two parts, but it is
still quick to tie and will hold firmly once tightened. crossIng Knots

                                         over left to form a
                                         reef knot, and tighten
                                         securely.
