Stress
We all respond to stress differently, so there is no one solution to dealing with stress. Stress
Management is all about taking charge of your lifestyle, thoughts, emotions and the way you deal
with problems. Stress Management can teach you healthier ways to cope with stress and reduce
its harmful effects.
Unhealthy ways of dealing with stress: Healthy ways of dealing with stress:
• Smoking • Meditate
• Drinking • Get a massage
• Sleeping too much • Drink Tea
• Binge eating • Take a walk
• Withdrawing from friends • Hang with your pet
• Lashing out at other • Exercise
Stress
Stress Management Strategies:
• Get moving: Physical activity plays a high role in
reducing and preventing stress, as exercise
releases endorphins that boost your mood and
make you feel good.
• Engage socially: Social engagement is the
quickest and most efficient way to rein in stress
and avoid overreacting to internal or external
events that you perceive as threatening.
• Accept the things you can’t change: Many
sources of stress are unavoidable and
uncontrollable, so you should learn to forgive,
look for the upside and don’t try to control the
uncontrollable aspects of your life.
• Adopt a healthy lifestyle: Ensure you get
enough sleep, eat a healthy diet, and reduce
caffeine and sugar.
