Angler’s loop
The angler’s loop, also called a perfection loop, is most often used as a terminal end to the
casting line of fly-fishermen. This casting line is connected to a monofilament leader with a
perfection loop on the end as well. They are then locked together by threading one through the
other.
Begin with a loop with the working end emerging from the bottom of the loop (1). With the
working end, wrap the loop from the top to the bottom, then bring the working end to the top and
lay it across the main loop (2). Pull the first wrap up through the loop (3), pulling on all the
emerging ends to tighten (4). Trim the excess working end as necessary (5).
